Horsemanship Clinic | 8am | Sat. & Sun., May 16 & 17, 2009
Ever wanted the chance to sit on a champion reining / cutting horse? Just to feel the difference and understand what you should be feeling from your own horse. The Plainville Saddle Club's Horsemanship Clinic May 16 & 17 with E.J. Laubscher is your chance to do just that.
8am Saturday & Sunday May 16 & 17
• Ride trained reiners/cutters
• Work live cattle
• Work with a mechanical cow
• $50 per rider, per day
• $5 to audit
Fresh off his third place win in the National Reined Cow Horse Association show held this past January in San Angelo, TX. Laubscher is bringing his top reining and cutting horses to Plainville for participants to "feel" the difference and improve their riding. Besides working with live cattle as part of the instruction, Laubscher will be able to control the training of the riders and their horses with a mechanical cow.
A South African native, Laubscher began working with horses at the age of seven. A prominent dressage trainer located in Balfour, about an hour and a half south of Johannesburg, mentored him in training horses and the various English disciplines. Laubscher left South Africa and began riding Western, specifically Reined Cow Horses. He attended Colby Community College where he acquired his degree in Equine Reproduction. He trains at the Tin Acre Quarter Horse Ranch located nine miles North of Colby on Highway 25 and is a top level competitor in the National Reined Cow Horse Association.
Laubscher strongly recommends attending both days to get the most benefit from the clinic. The clinic is limited to 15 riders for more individual attention. Space is still available. Saturday evening following the day’s classes, participants are invited to bring their own BBQ essentials (meat & buns) and the Plainville Saddle Club will provide the grill, sides and refreshments.
